Job Description:
The Network Technician supports the Director of Network Services in maintaining the campus network and telephone systems and supports the college's network services by cabling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuring the network and telephone systems. Duties include: - Troubleshoot and maintain physical network including copper and fiber cabling
- Configure and maintain switches, routers, hubs and other network electronics
- Understand and maintain web, file, DNS, Active Directory, and other enterprise server systems
- Support network needs of College's one card and telephone systems
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience working with fundamental aspects of LAN and WAN technologies
- Thorough understanding of concepts of networking, cabling, routers, and switches, Windows networking environments, and wireless technologies
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to be resourceful and work independently to solve problems
- General knowledge of PBX and related telephone cabling and troubleshooting
- Understand the relationship between network, phone and enterprise systems
- Able to work in a team environment where a high level of customer service is expected
- Able to learn quickly, be self-motivated, and have the energy and enthusiasm to grow in the job
- Excellent communication skills
- Successful Candidate will be required to complete a full background check
Valued but not required: - Degree in computer technology or related field
